An Object is defined as a unit of passive structure that has relevance for a layer.

An Object is used to model an object type of which several instances may exist within the layer. In this case, it may be realized in some way. It may also be specialized by another Object.

Objects are passive. They do not trigger or perform processes.

Objects may be accessed by a behavior elements such as services, functions, processes, events and interactions. An Object may have Association, Specialization, Aggregation, or Composition relationships with other Objects.

The name of an Object should preferably be a noun.

Examples: Invoice, Customer file, Student record, Attendance record, Ledger, and other examples per layer.
